On Friday, 8th February 2019, at 11:00, a celebration and a blessing was held at the District Office in Lefkosia, in honour of Agios Zenonas, patron saint of the Post Office, who is celebrated on 10th February.
The blessing was performed by Archbishop Chrysostomos II, in the presence of the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works Mrs Vassiliki Anastassiadou, the Permanent Secretary Mr Stavros Michael, senior officials of the Ministry, the President and General Secretary of PASYDY Mr Antonis Koutsoulis and Glafkos Hadjipetrou respectively, as well as the Management and staff of Cyprus Post.
In her address, the Ministry stressed the important mission of Cyprus Post and to their continuous effort to upgrade their services.
The Director of Cyprus Post Mr Andreas Gregoriou, thanking the Archbishop for accepting the invitation, handed over to him a sheet of personal stamps, depicting the Kyrenia ship, whcih symbolises the desire for the return to our occupied land.
The Archbishop thanked Mr Gregoriou for the nice gesture and he emphasised the role and contribution of the postal employees in the society and the economy of Cyprus and wished every success and progress to all.
Similar celebrations will be held on Monday, 11th February at the District Offices of Lemesos and Larnaka-Ammochostos.
