Items from the United Kingdom

We would like to inform you as follows:

1. A large volume of postal items has been received from the United Kingdom, which are subject to customs clearance.
2. According to the Universal Postal Union’s regulations, the sending postal organisations have the responsibility to send customs declarations in electronic form.
3. Unfortunately, a very large number of the said items has arrived without an electronic customs declaration and as a result their handling is delayed.
4. Cyprus Post has circulated via the Universal Postal Union various relevant circulars, emphasizing the importance of the presence of a reliable customs declaration in electronic form. The most recent circular can be found here.
5. We do everything possible to handle these items the soonest and at the same time we are in contact with Royal Mail in order to ensure that all items arriving in Cyprus have an electronic customs declaration with reliable data.
