Dispatches to the USA

16/04/2026

Following previous announcements, we would like to inform the public of the following:

  1. We have been informed by the U.S. Postal Services that, as a policy of the Customs Department, any items that do not have an electronic customs declaration (ITMATT) are to be returned.
  2. However, because the U.S. Postal Services have no way of separating “problematic items,” they have decided that an entire mail receptacle will be returned or not accepted if it contains even one “problematic” item. For example, receptacles containing 30 items were returned because one item did not have an ITMATT due to any technical issue.
  3. For this reason, and in order to protect the interests of senders from Cyprus, we temporarily suspended shipments to the U.S.A. until we receive clear answers as mentioned above.
  4. Consequently, all returned items will be sent back to the senders. Duties and other charges paid through the ZONOS Prepaid app will be refunded by ZONOS. As for the postal fees paid, these will be refunded through a procedure that will be determined in a separate announcement.
  5. Regarding the resumption of shipments to the U.S.A., this is scheduled for Monday, 27 April 2026. Items destined for the U.S.A. may be submitted at Post Offices from that date onward.
  6. We are making every possible effort to ensure the smooth creation and transmission of the electronic customs declaration (ITMATT), so that a similar issue does not occur again.
  7. Shipments to the U.S.A. will now be carried out in a different manner, which will also be permanent:
  1. The ZONOS Prepaid App will NO longer be used.
  2. The Dispatch Note and customs declaration will be prepared as they are today, and the system will calculate duties and other related charges for sending the item to the U.S.A.
  3. Payment will be made either through the online epost application or at the Post Office when submitting the item, depending on the payment method agreed with Cyprus Post.
  4. The sender bears full responsibility if the final charges differ due to an incorrect customs declaration (e.g., description of contents, declared value, etc.).
