Scam Facebook posts

Α dangerous and deceptive post has been posted on Facebook purporting to sell undeliverable packages at unrealistically low prices.

Dear customers, will like to remind the following:

Cyprus Post will never ask for your bank account or credit/debit card details! Any communication, either by email or SMS of this nature (eg. Unless you pay a certain amount, your item will be returned to the sender), is not sent by Cyprus Post and it constitutes a fraud attempt to gain access to your personal data and/or to fraudulently secure a payment.

Cyprus Post will never call a customer from a non-Cypriot telephone number and they never ask for payment in order to resolve a problem.

Cyprus Post are aware of malicious communications by e-mail or SMS, using their logo, using as a reason a delivery of parcel, tracking a postal item, outstanding payments etc, in an attempt to gain access to your personal data and/or to fraudulently secure a payment.

Please remember:

• Do your use your access credentials and your personal data (including bank account and card details etc), unless your absolutely certain about the validity of the website you visit. The official domain of Cyprus Post is “cypruspost.post”.
• All online payments are directed to the secured site of JCC Payment Systems.
• Do not open attachments or follow links embedded in e-mails, SMS or social media unless you are absolutely certain about the validity of the message (even if the sender is known). Cyprus Post send e-mails and SMS with embedded links for the Delivery Choice for parcels and EMS items as well as for Citizen Center (KEPO) appointments.
• Cyprus Post will neither ask you to enter or expose your access credentials or personal data (including bank account or card details etc), nor will ask for such information via e-mail, SMS or social media.
• Always check the communication for spelling, grammar and syntax errors. Automatic translators are usually used for these communications and such errors are very common.

The use of the trade name and the logo of Cyprus Post in phishing attempts is illegal. When any such attempt is detected, Cyprus Post notifies the competent authorities of the Republic of Cyprus.
