Α dangerous and deceptive post has been posted on Facebook purporting to sell undeliverable packages at unrealistically low prices.
Dear customers, will like to remind the following:
Cyprus Post will never ask for your bank account or credit/debit card details! Any communication, either by email or SMS of this nature (eg. Unless you pay a certain amount, your item will be returned to the sender), is not sent by Cyprus Post and it constitutes a fraud attempt to gain access to your personal data and/or to fraudulently secure a payment.
Cyprus Post will never call a customer from a non-Cypriot telephone number and they never ask for payment in order to resolve a problem.
Cyprus Post are aware of malicious communications by e-mail or SMS, using their logo, using as a reason a delivery of parcel, tracking a postal item, outstanding payments etc, in an attempt to gain access to your personal data and/or to fraudulently secure a payment.
Please remember:
The use of the trade name and the logo of Cyprus Post in phishing attempts is illegal. When any such attempt is detected, Cyprus Post notifies the competent authorities of the Republic of Cyprus.
