On the occasion of the release of the commemorative stamp series “Cyprus Security Forces” on 11 September 2026, a presentation event was held today, 28 September 2026, at the Press and Information Office.
The event was attended by the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Mrs. Evi Tsolaki; the Minister of Justice and Public Order, Mr. Kostas Fytiris; the representative of the Minister of Defence, Brigadier Iakovos Mikellidis; the representative of the Chief of the National Guard, Air Wing Commander Sotirios Themistokleous; the representative of the Chief of Police, Deputy Chief of Police Mr. Panikos Stavrou; and the Chief Fire Officer of the Cyprus Fire Service, Mr. Nikos Longinos.
In her address, the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Mrs. Evi Tsolaki, emphasized that security is a fundamental public good and a key priority of the Government of President Nikos Christodoulides. She noted that the commemorative series pays tribute to the work of the women and men serving in the Cyprus Police, the Fire Service, and the National Guard, often under difficult and demanding conditions.
The Director of the Postal Services Department, Mr. Pavlos Pavlides, presented the stamps, stating that the design and artistic direction were created by Mr. Theodoros Kakoullis. The stamps have face values of €0.34, €0.41, and €0.50 respectively, while the First Day Cover is available at the price of €2.06. Mr. Pavlides also expressed his gratitude to the Cyprus Security Forces for their longstanding contribution to society.
Representatives of the Cyprus Police, the Fire Service, and the National Guard welcomed the initiative of Cyprus Post and referred to the role and mission of their services in ensuring the security, protection, and defence of the Republic of Cyprus.
