Specifications

The Cyprus Post operates a sorting machine at the Mail Sorting Center (KE.D.A.) at Latsia.

In order for mail to be sorted as quickly as possible with the least possible human intervention, it is important to follow some basic rules as described below:

The address must be written in the correct way.
Envelope of specific types which are compatible with the mail sorting machine should be used.
The surface of the envelopes and postcards should be used in the right way for clearly indicating the addressee and the sender and for affixing or imprinting stamps.

Dimensions:

Rates for letter mail are based on the categorization of the postal items in Small (P), Large (G) and Irregular (E). Please see table below

Cylindrical items are classified as Irregular (E-format).

Prohibitions:

It is prohibited to send cash (you may use the money order service or the money transfer service of MoneyGram if you require a more speedy transfer).
It is prohibited to send valuable items.

It is prohibited to send explosive, flammable, items with compressed gas, flammable liquids, corrosive, poisonous , radioactive substances and other hazardous goods.
